Description
Ruiva-dm6446-0012 is a compact, universal video analytics platform. Based on Texas Instruments DaVinci digital media system-on-chip, it is particularly well fit for intelligent video processing applications. The dual-core architecture of the DM6446 provides benefits of both DSP and Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) technologies, incorporating a high-performance TMS320C64x+™ DSP core and an ARM926EJ-S core. This powerful combination makes the chip a great choice for high performance networked video applications (encoding and decoding, embedded video playback, recording, transcoding and analytics). EVM board Ruiva-dm6446-0012 enables developers to build start immediate evaluation of DaVinci™ processors and begin building digital video applications such as automotive infotainment, streaming media, video security systems and digital video products that have yet to be invented.
The EVM module Ruiva-dm6446-0012 allows developers to write production-ready application code for the ARM and provides access to the DSP core using DaVinci APIs to begin immediate application development for the TMS320DM6446 digital media processors.
The EVM includes TI’s eXpressDSP DM664x Linux DVSDK. The eXpressDSP Digital Video Software Development Kit allows DaVinci system integrators to incorporate discrete software modules and combine them into a single executable output for systems, avoiding months of tedious manual integration. By making it easy to create custom bundles of codecs for specific applications, the configuration kit makes it simple to reuse code.

The industrial verion of this board can operate in extended thermal range from -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F) and in 98% humidity, making it a perfect candidate for heavy duty applications. It has been designed to comply with environmental requirements (EMI, EMC).

Please download this image if your not farmiliar with setup linux environments. This package is a vmware virtual machine image preinstalled FC12 and Ruiva dm6446 dvsdk version 2.5. To decompress it, you need at least 12G spare harddisk space and the file system must be ntfs. The root password of this preinstalled linux is 12345678, password for user ruiva is 12345678.
